With retail storefronts in Santa Barbara and Napa we provide locals and visitors alike with access to a huge variety of always sustainable, fresh daily, seafood of the highest quality available.

If you are a local and haven’t yet stopped by, or are just visiting from out of town, we urge you to drop in and checkout the wide variety of seafood available everyday (except Sunday). You’ll find everything from red snapper to pink grouper, from manila clams to pacific oysters, from Alaska halibut to New Zealand mussels….and most things in between depending on seasonal availability. All our fresh fish is sushi grade. That is, so fresh it can be eaten raw. Whether you are planning for sashimi or the grill you can always be sure that with Kanaloa fresh seafood the quality will be uncompromised, and the sustainability certain.

While you’re there check out our cold room facility and master cutters at work through one of our large viewing widows. You’ll be impressed with the immaculate nature of the facility, and the efficient choreography of our staff as they receive and process thousands of pounds of fresh, sustainable fish each day. Check out our master cutters at work, and lick your chops at the delicious muscular beauty of a fresh ahi loin as big as your thigh.

Be amazed at the skill and speed with which a 40 lb halibut is filleted, leaving virtually no wasted fish. 100% of what does remain is sold to local crabbers and the like as bait. Nothing is wasted. Our commitment to sustainability extends to all aspects of our business, not just our source fisheries.

Our expert staff is always available to explain everything from the sustainability science on which the species preservation depends, to the fishery from which it was taken and the methods used. We’re also happy to provide advice on how to prepare all the seafood we offer. We eat a lot of fish. We’re pretty expert in this regard as well.

We also typically have some special prepared delights available as well. Maybe some just made ceviche or crab cakes prepared by Martin, our staff chef (who “moonlights” as chef at the five star San Ysidro Ranch restaurant.)
